In response to the increasing demand for HIV counseling and testing services, Positive Action Foundation Philippines, Inc. (PAFPI) in collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH) through the Infectious Disease Office (IDO), and STI AIDS Cooperative Central Laboratory (SACCL) will facilitate the conduct of the DOH certification “HIV Counseling to Testing Training (HCtT)” at the Asian Social Institute (ASI) located at 1518 Leon Guinto Street in Malate, Manila. The four(4) days live out training objective is to enhance participants’ knowledge, skills and attitudes in providing HIV counseling including pre and post-test counseling to clients who access this service at the health service facility.
 
In view of this, PAFPI is now opening its registration for interested facilities and individuals. The first 21 participants who registered will be accommodated. To defray the training cost and operating expenses, participation fees will be charged to the participating facilities.

“It was not too long ago when an absurd post about a supposedly HIV infected blood contaminated a pineapple and in turn passed the HIV to the person who ate the fruit,” says Joshua T. Formentera, President of Positive Action Foundation Philippines, Inc. (PAFPI).

More than three decades since the discovery of HIV, the populace is still riddled with hordes of misconceptions about HIV and AIDS. Social media is still populated with posts that kindled ignorance that further stigmatize and discriminate people living with HIV (PLHIV). And according to Formentera, the high number of shares and likes only shows that awareness and education drive on HIV and AIDS should be done in the most creative way to reach a large number of Filipinos.

Client Admission Guidelines (Walk-In/Referred)

  Walk-in/Referred Clients shall bear their pertinent documents upon access (Confirmatory results, medical abstract, certificate of indigency, proof of identity). This is a gate pass to be able to access PAFPI services

  Social Worker shall conduct an interview to the client or if it is referred by CHOW/ other agencies, the initial records shall be forwarded to the social worker for review purposes whether the client will be accommodated or will be referred to other agency.

  After assessment, social worker will give recommendations to be able to access services (e.g.assistance for a particular medical test/procedure, referral to medical facility, referral to other service providers for financial/livelihood/medicine assistance.

prevention under the 3S Project in Pasig City. PAFPI, on behalf of Loveyourself, Inc. hereby request for expression of interest from eligible and competent contractors to submit pre-qualification information for construction / refurbishment of clinics in Pasig City, which includes the following major components:

a. Make measurements of the rented space for the clinics
b. Design effective floor plan for efficient clinic operation
c. Construction of the space and interior finishing
d. Refurbishment and installation of fixture (air-con, etc.)
e. Electrical Installations.
