PAFPI PRESS RELEASE
10TH ANNUAL LOVEWALK ON VALENTINE’S DAY TO ADVOCATE COMMUNITY-LED HIV AWARENESS AND FREE HIV TESTING.
In honor of the 10th anniversary of the annual #LOVEWALK. POSITIVE ACTION FOUNDATION PHILIPPINES, INC., #PAFPIcares is proud to announce its continued commitment to HIV advocacy and testing. Taking place on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2024, the Lovewalk event aims to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, promote prevention measures, and provide accessible testing services to the community.
Over the past decade, the Love Walk has grown into a significant platform for spreading awareness and advocating for HIV education and prevention and access to treatment. This year’s event promises to be more impactful than ever, with a range of activities designed to engage and empower participants.
The Lovewalk will kick off in series of events on February 13, 2014 in Navotas and Valenzuela in coordination and in partnership with the Social Hygiene Clinic and Local Government Unit and in February 14, 2024, in Manila as well as Cavite City where participants will gather to celebrate love, support, and solidarity in the fight against HIV/AIDS. In Cavite city, the event will be led by the CAVITE POSITIVE ACTION GROUP (CPAG) a sister organization of PAFPI. The event will feature inspiring speeches from community leaders, HIV/AIDS advocates, and healthcare professionals, highlighting the importance of early detection, treatment, and stigma reduction.
One of the central components of the Lovewalk is the provision of free HIV testing services. Recognizing the critical role of testing in HIV prevention and treatment, PAFPIcares is partnering with local healthcare providers to offer confidential testing to all attendees. Testing will be conducted by trained professionals in a safe and supportive environment, with immediate results available on-site.
In addition to HIV testing, the Lovewalk will offer informational booths, interactive workshops, and resources on HIV prevention, treatment, and support services. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with experts, ask questions, and access valuable information to protect themselves and their loved ones.
“We are thrilled to celebrate a decade of love, unity, and advocacy through the Lovewalk,” said Joshua Formentera Founder at Positive Action Foundation Philippines, Inc. “Our commitment to ending HIV/AIDS remains unwavering, and we believe that events like the Lovewalk are instrumental in raising awareness, promoting testing, and supporting those affected by HIV/AIDS. Together, we can make a difference and create a world free from stigma and discrimination.”
The 10th Annual Lovewalk is open to people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. Whether you’re walking to honor a loved one, support a friend, or simply raise awareness, your participation is crucial in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Join us on Valentine’s Day for a celebration of love, hope, and solidarity at the 10th Annual Lovewalk.
