News Bites for PAFPI-EpiC Events for August 2024 Training Session

The PAFPI-Epic program conducted an Advanced Community Case Management for Psychosocial Support Intervention training session on August 2–4, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Bayview Park Hotel Manila, Roxas Boulevard, Ermita, Manila. The aim of the training was to provide targeted psychological and social support to individuals, particularly those in vulnerable or underserved populations. The primary focus of the training was to identify, intervene, and manage psychosocial issues using new approaches, processes, and methodologies.

The agenda for the training is outlined below:

Day 1 discussions:

– Understanding the difference between Intake Sheets and Social Case Studies
– Roles and Responsibilities of Case Managers

Day 2 discussions:

– Intake and Assessment (Using a case management form)
– Care Plan Development
– Monitoring and Development

Day 3 discussion:

– Group Presentation

Additional highlights of the training include:

1. Presenting Psychosocial Interventions involving providing additional mentoring to staff, LGU, and other partners involved in the services.

2. Intake: The process of intake is managed by the Case Manager (CM), Case Manager Team Leader (CMTL), and Social Worker.

3. Care plan: The development of the care plan is undertaken by the CM, CMTL, and Social Worker.

4. Clarification and discussion of the strategies for implementing Psychosocial Interventions and ways to minimize discomfort for both clients and service providers.
