PAFPI President Emmanuel Garcia delivered a warm welcome speech for the launch of the Navotas City Local AIDS Council (LAC) event, and highlighting the PAFPI PSI (Psychosocial Intervention) program.
PAFPI President Emmanuel Garcia delivered a welcome speech to the distinguished guests of the Navotas City LAC, including relevant city department heads, city council members, other LGU partners—especially IDEALS representatives, PAFPI community members, —friends, and advocates. Mr. Garcia welcomed all participants and attendees with great pleasure to this significant occasion.
He extended his heartfelt gratitude to everyone for taking the time to attend the event, noting that their presence is a testament to our shared commitment to building a healthier and more inclusive society.
He highlighted several key points regarding the Navotas City LAC launch:
– This marks a special moment for PAFPI and participants gathered for the Navotas City LAC launch. The event is not only a celebration but also a reaffirmation of our ongoing efforts to support individuals and families affected by HIV and AIDS, raise awareness, foster understanding, and strengthen the bonds of our community.
– PAFPI’s mission has always been to provide care, advocacy, and support to people living with HIV and their families. We believe that through education, compassion, and collaboration, we can break down the barriers of stigma and create an environment where everyone has access to the care they need.
In discussing PAFPI’s pivotal program—Psychosocial Intervention (PSI)—Mr. Garcia noted:
– One of the key programs PAFPI is proud to highlight is PSI – the Psychosocial Intervention Program. This initiative has been instrumental in providing emotional and mental health support to those affected by HIV. It is critical to understand that the journey is not only about managing physical health but also about nurturing the mind and soul. PAFPI’s PSI program offers counseling, peer support, and various activities aimed at helping individuals cope with the challenges faced by people living with HIV, build resilience, and ultimately thrive as contributing members of society.
– PAFPI is deeply grateful to its partners, volunteers, and the local government of Navotas City for their unwavering support. Without the collaboration of the LGU, PAFPI’s efforts in implementing its PSI program would not be as impactful as they are. Together, as a cohesive, united community, we are making a difference, one step at a time.
Mr. Garcia continued with a nostalgic reflection as PAFPI concludes its program and financial support through the USAID-Epic grant for Navotas City PLHIV activities:
– He took the opportunity to remind everyone that we all have a role to play—whether as a volunteer, healthcare provider, community leader, or supporter—our contributions are vital in building a society that cares for, supports, and empowers its members. It is essential that we continue to work hand in hand, not just in the present moment, but every day, to ensure that no one is left behind.
Mr. Garcia concluded his remarks by expressing gratitude to those who joined the event and by celebrating the successful launch of the Navotas City LAC. He looks forward to continued meaningful discussions, activities, and connections within the Navotas City community beyond the event, always hoping for memorable and impactful collaboration and support with one another.
